The Drop Shot technique requires the ability to hold the bait in position, while moving it erratically horizontally on a light line. The rod must be able to detect a strike, which is often times very subtle, at depths of 20’ or more. The Drop Shot blank and guide setup are designed to help perfect this technique. The 6’6” version is ideal for most situations while the 7’ version is generally used for fishing depths greater than 20’ to assist in taking up slack and line stretch.
